The hives Creator

Last Update: 12-3-2023

Your body isn’t out to hurt you. It is an intelligence system that wants nothing but the best for you no matter how you treat it. Give your body a little bit more credit than it being a broken down machine. I believe that illness is a feedback mechanism that let’s us know when something is emotionally bothering us under the surface that we may or may not be conscious of. Are there physical factors involved in illness? Absolutely. Can studies and evidence-based medicine be the only pieces of the puzzle that matter? I think not. Gather as much information as you can physically, emotionally and spiritually before making any decisions involving your body. Be your best advocate.

AN ILLUSTRATION OF The Hives Creator

Winnie the Pooh enjoys his lifestyle in the Hundred Acre Wood. By lifestyle, I mean the honey lifestyle. My boy slams honey like its nobody’s business. If you like to get down interesting rabbit holes like me, you may enjoy a paper that the Canadian Medical Association Journal published. It is called: Pathology in the Hundred Acre Wood: a neurodevelopmental perspective on A.A. Milne by Sarah E. Shea, Kevin Gordon, Ann Hawkins, Janet Kawchuk and Donna Smith CMAJ December 12, 2000 163 (12) 1557-1559

To summarize the paper, the author makes the argument that Pooh has ADHD and OCD. He has some pretty intense control issues. So much so that the author proposes that he may develop Tourette’s Syndrome down the road. If Pooh already has ADHD & OCD on a daily basis, imagine what his life would look like if there was a honey shortage.

Here is what I imagine his life to look like during a honey shortage:

Hour 1: “I’m okay, I have plenty of honey!”

Hour 2: *Binges on all of his honey.*

Hour 3: “I don’t have anymore honey. Do you know where I can find some?”

Hour 3.25: “I need honey.”

Hour 3.50: “I HAVE to have honey.”

Hour 4: *Turns into a WWE pro wrestler and starts knocking people out, going into their homes and robbing them of their honey.*

Hour 4.25: *Turns into the Hulk and destroys everyone’s home to find honey.*

Hour 5: *There is no more honey in the Hundred Acre Wood*

Hour 5.25: *Pooh shrinks back to his normal body and cries uncontrollably.*

Hour 5.50: *Pooh starts to become covered in hives. He feels like his world is ending.*

THERAPEUTIC CONSIDERATIONS

The word “creator” is used very intentionally. If an individual can live out the illustration of The Hives Creator over and over again, it is CREATED. Here are questions that I encourage you to journal about and/or discuss with your counselor.

*Do not sit and think about these questions. Get the thoughts out of your body through writing or speech. A true, unbiased, analysis of oneself can not happen within just the contents of one’s own mind.

  1. What is your honey?

  2. How do you binge on your honey? What does that look like for you?

  3. Why does honey help you feel like you are in control?

  4. Why do you need a coping mechanism like honey? What are you coping from?

  5. How have you been willing to hurt others to get your honey?

  6. How do you feel like your world is ending without your honey?

Even though Pooh feels like his world is ending, it is true that the world is actually ending? Is it possible for Pooh to survive without honey? If so, how?
