The Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Creator

Last Updated: 01-21-24

Your body isn’t out to hurt you. It is an intelligence system that wants nothing but the best for you no matter how you treat it. Give your body a little bit more credit than it being a broken down machine. I believe that illness is a feedback mechanism that lets us know when something is emotionally bothering us under the surface; that we may or may not be conscious of. Are there physical factors involved in illness? YES! Can studies and evidence-based medicine be the only pieces of the puzzle that matter? I don’t believe this to be true. Gather as much information as you can physically, emotionally and spiritually before making any decisions involving your body. Be your best advocate.

What is Chronic Fatigue Syndrome?

An Illustration of the Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Creator

The belief: “God will not show up for me.” (Complete loss of hope)

A little girl mails her Christmas list to Santa every year. Each Christmas morning, she wakes up to discover that nothing or almost nothing on her list was fulfilled. Additionally, she goes to school a week later and sees that the other boys and girls in her class got what they wanted from Santa. She feels as though Santa sees her list and immediately throws it away; as if her needs don’t exist. This continues repeatedly, for years, until she eventually grows tired of having her needs ignored. She amounts to lying on the floor, in a starfish position, grasping for God to care.

Therapeutic Considerations

The word “creator” is used very intentionally. If an individual can live out the illustration of The Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Creator over and over again, it is CREATED. Here are questions that I encourage you to journal about and/or discuss with your counselor.

*Do not sit and think about these questions. Get the thoughts out of your body through writing or speech. A true, unbiased, analysis of oneself can not happen within just the contents of one’s own mind.

  1. Are you under the impression that Santa (God) is supposed to fulfill most things on your Christmas list (prayers)?

  2. Do you you feel like this bible verse works for other people but does not work for you?

Matthew 7:7-8 New International Version (NIV)

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

  3. Is there any possible way that you are closing doors that have been opened to you?

  4. Is there any possible way that you have a resistance to the doors that are open?

  5. Does it FEEL like every single person gets what they want besides you? (Does the emotional/irrational part of you feel this way?)

  6. Why would Santa (God) throw away your list? If other people in the world have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, does he throw away their lists as well? If so, why?

  7. Does the emotional irrational part of you believe that Santa (God) cares about all of the children? If he does care about all of the children, does he care about all of the children equally? If he doesn’t care about them equally, why?

  8. Do you FEEL like Santa (God) is throwing away your list to hurt you or help you?

  9. Do you FEEL like Santa (God) accepts you? If he doesn’t accept you, why specifically does he not accept you? (Really work on getting to a specific reason why he doesn’t accept you.)

  10. Does it FEEL possible that Santa (God) can care about you and accept you even if you are grasping for life each day? Did Santa (God) ever promise that he would save you from suffering on Earth?

  11. Is it possible that Santa (God) has fulfilled your list but the items are in a place that you haven’t looked? (Think delivered to an Amazon Pickup Location vs Your Front Door/Christmas Tree).
